Here are the main places that Padayatra India visited in the month of January and their book scores. Some of these places have already been mentioned in previous articles. This summary of locations will help give you an idea of the places and distances traveled by this padayatra party.
January 1: Vijaya Durga Kalyana Mandapam – located on Vellore Road in the Chitoor district of Andhra Pradesh
January 2: Vasanthapuram – a village situated in Gudipala Tehsil and located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
January 3: Katpadi (pronounced [katːpaːdi]) – is a locality in Vellore, in the northern part of Vellore city. After leaving Andra Pradesh we entered the Indian state, Tamil Nadu in South India after travelling for 14 kilometers.
January 4-5: Katpadi – our party traveled to Gandhi Nagar to visit the ISKCON center there. We traveled for 7 kilometers on this day.
January 6-7: Jai Ramsi Kalyan Mandapa – located in the city of Vellore. Travel distance 8 kilometers.
January 8: in the city of Vellore (8 kilometers traveled).
January 9: Ratnagiri – located in Vellore. We traveled 7 kilometers.
January 10: Ranipet – also known as Ranipettai, ‘Rani’ refers to queen and ‘pettai’ means district. It is a suburban town and the industrial hub of Vellore city. Travel distance, 11 kilometers.
January 11: Kaveripakkam – a panchayat town refers to a small town having under 20,000 or 25,000 inhabitants. Tamil Nadu was the first state in India to introduce the panchayat town as an intermediate step between rural villages and urban local bodies. Kaveripakkam is located in the Vellore district. Our party traveled 15 kilometers on this day.
January 12: Damal – a village in the Kanchipuram Taluk in the Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu. We traveled 14 kilometers.
January 13: Kanchipuram – otherwise known as Kanchi (previously romanized as Kāñci-pura, Conjevaram) is a city in Tamil Nadu. Travel distance, 13 kilometers.
January 14: ISKCON Center, Chennai – our party attended the annual Jagannath Ratha Yatra festival here. We traveled 4 kilometers on this day.
January 15-16: Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu
January 17: Walajabad – a panchayat town in the Kancheepuram district in Tamil Nadu. It is the main town in the Walajabad taluk. Travel distance 15 kilometers
January 18: Varanavasi – located in Kancipuram. We traveled a distance of 13 kilometers.
January 19: Sarpanch Cheri – our party traveled 13 kilometers on this day.
January 20: Sethipathi – travel distance, 12 kilometers
January 21-22: Sriperumbudur – the birth place of Ramanujacarya. We traveled 13 kilometers.
January 23: Manavala Nagar – located in the district of Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu. Travel distance 13 kilometers.
January 24-25: Tiruvallur – a town located in the Tiruvallur district (also known as Thiruvallur). It is an administrative district in Tamil Nadu. The town of Tiruvallur is the district headquarters. We visited the local ISKCON Center here. Travel distance 4 kilometers
January 26: Ramakrishna Kalian Mandapa – located in the town of Tiruvallur. We travelled 13 kilometers on this day.
January 27-28: Avadi – we visited the ISKCON Centre here. Travel distance 10 kilometers.
January 29-30: Ambattur – is a neighborhood in Northern Chennai, located in the Ambattur taluk of the Chennai Corporation in Tamil Nadu. Travel distance 10 kilometers.
January 31: Villivakkam – is a place located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a residential area known for its famous temples. Travel distance 9 kilometers.
