Our oxcart padayatra took place in and around Kosice, the biggest city in eastern Slovakia. It was held for three days (August 27 to 29) with many local devotees joining us and a few guests. We embarked on the journey with a new cart and wonderful new deities as we visited places surrounding the ISKCON temple of ‘New Ekacakra’.
While traveling one day we decided to take a short-cut through a forest and to our surprise we met more people there than we had in the villages. We distributed magazines about Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON’s 50th anniversary. Padayatris also distributed packages filled with sweet balls and maha prasadam bananas and, of course, most importantly, the holy names. We travelled to six villages and covered approximately 40 kilometers together. I am grateful to all the devotees that participated –this padayatra would not have been possible without them.
