Brijbasis feeding the oxen

By Parasurama Dasa

This was our 32nd Kartik Padayatra tour of Vraja, going through the 12 forests of Vrindavan with a bullock cart.  Usually in the Western world we go on harinama, preaching to people who know nothing about bhakti yoga, or the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna. Most people are not even vegetarian and have never heard of our principles of devotional service.

But when you go on harinama in Vraja, it’s a different ball game, these people love Krishna and the holy names. They are certainly not ordinary people. The vrajabasis are ready to sing and dance for the Lord with love, as can be seen in the 8 minute video. This year we distributed 31,000 small books, “The teachings of Lord Caitanya”, and tons of bananas prasadam.

Loka Saranga prabhu, a regular Vraj Padayatra devotee, had a serious car accident a year ago during the padayatra in the Czech Republic. He was lucky to be alive, he even had to learn how to walk again. And now, by Krishna’s mercy, he is fully recovered, and again singing and dancing in the dust of Vraja. We were also fortunate to have 3 members of the Harinaam Ruci Party.

Next year we will have space for 3 extra devotees to join the party. They need to be a little physically fit.   To book a space please contact Parasurama Dasa: “foodforalluk@gmail.com”.
