Shanti our Padayatra ox

By Jaya Vijay Dasa (Former All India Padayatra leader)

It is Shanti, one of our padayatra oxen,Kankrej breed. The Kankrej is an Indian breed of cattle. It originates from the arid region of the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat and neighbouring Rajasthan. Taken for padayatra in 1989, Shanti retired in Mayapur in 1990.

It would go for Sri Sri Panchatattva darshan daily and kneel in front of Them and shed tears. It was such a great soul. Our Gurudev, Lokanath Maharaja, says these padayatra oxen are not ordinary, they are very fortunate souls directly engaged in the service of Sri Sri Nitai-Gaurasundar carrying Them on their shoulders.

All glories to Shanti.
