On November 27th we successfully completed one of ISKCON’s 4th, one-day padayatras for this year. We started at 8.00 pm and walked for around 10 kilometers with Sri Sri Nimai Nitai deities and a Srila Prabhupada murti. There were 95 to 100 devotees who joined us in a roaring kirtana which was sustained throughout the walk.
At 9.00 am that day, we all had breakfast prasadam in the village of Ambli, which is just across from the Bopal municipality and close to the Bopal Highway. It was here that we distributed most of the books. Afterwards, we set off again and after every four roads we took a10 minute stop to have ecstatic, loud kirtana lead by devotees such as Antaratma Dasa, Narada Muni Dasa, Sanata Gauranga Dasa and Akhanda Krishna Dasa. During the kirtanas large crowds gathered and chanted with us with raised hands. The padayatris worked together to distribute kichadi prasadam and Srila Prabhupada’s books along the way. Altogether we distributed 64 Bhagavad-gitas and many small books. We ended the padayatra at 13.00 pm at one of the congregation devotee’s farm houses.
In order to hold successful padayatras we created a team of 20 devotees who offered their help for every walk. I am very thankful to all those devotees who are serving padayatra in so many ways.
Here is a brief list of some of the devotees who offered their support and services:
Book Distributers: Jai Panchali Dasi, Sadanandi Dasi, Vamsibihari Dasa,
Bhakta Paresh Rana and Bhakta Bhavesh Joshi
Prasadam Team: Madhavamohini Dasi, Harimurari Dasa and Padmaradha
Dasi and a few new devotees.
Financial Assistance Team: Bhakta Ramchandra Kanan, Bhakta Sunil Gupta and Bhata Sonu Singh who contributes funds for book distribution so, that, Srila Prabhuapada’s books can easily reach people at a lesser price.
