Fired-up book distributors in Bihar

As you can see in the attached photos the padayatris are fired up about book distribution. Too busy to send their scores (just coming…)

Krishna Sudama das, our enthusiastic and efficient reporter, shared with us some interesting comments about a few of these photos.

Bhakta Suresh, whose effulgent smile you certainly noticed, had met with an accident a year ago on padayatra.  While crossing the road to get a serving spoon for the morning prasadam,  a speeding auto hit him, and didn’t even stop. Suresh was immediately taken to a hospital. A  Life member from Haryana sponsored his medical expenses and three devotees stayed with him for a few months, taking turns attending him.  After recuperating at his family’s home , he  came back to  padayatra in mid April in full health and high spirits. Suresh’s main service is in the kitchen.

A few words about Jagannath Baba,  Baladeva and Subhadra:  on June 26, while walking through a village called Rampur Hari (70 kms before Patna) we came across these deities who were  kept in a small shed next to a school. Upon investigation locals told us that they were originally in a temple which was damaged and were then  moved to this temporary shed. They affectionately called Lord Jagannath,  Jagannath Baba.

While we were in Muktinath  Avadhuta Nitai das found a shaligram sila in the Gandaki river. It is now being worshiped on the altar along with Sri Sri  Nitai Gaurasundar.
