Nama Hatta devotees in Alibag, Maharashtra, held their latest one-day walk on March 12, 2023. The padayatra – starting from Kharpada and passing through Thalepada and Nandapada to its destination at Fakirpada – was the twelfth in a series designed to cover the more than 200 villages neighbouring Alibag.
The devotees assembled in Kharpada at 7am with the beautifully decorated deities installed on a vehicle. Padayatra was inaugurated with arati of Their Lordships by eminent personalities of the town Mr Parshuram and Vikas Pedhavi along with their families, and the journey got under way following a welcoming ceremony.
Many local people joined the padayatra and as we went ahead families performed arati of Their Lordships and greeted the padayatris. Having walked a few kilometres we halted for breakfast prasadam which was offered by Mr Manoj Bhoir at at Nandapada’s Ganpati temple.
After prasadam the procession continued until we reached Fakirpada. Having taken rest, we all honoured lunch prasadam at the residence of Mr Pravin Jagannath Pedhavi. Devotees then shared their realizations and as in previous walks began asking when the next padayatra would take place.
It’s all the mercy of Sri Guru and Gauranga that we have successfully continued with our commitment to this sequence of padayatras.
During padayatra we encountered about 500 fortunate souls and distributed two Bhagavad-gitas and ten small books.
Hare Krishna.
