On January 3rd, 2016 we arrived in the state of Tamil Nadu. Our first stop here was Katpadi which is located in Vellore in the northern most part of the city. Whenever we enter a new state we always make sure to carry books in the local language. This time it was no different. We ordered books from BBT and asked that they be delivered to an address here; so we were well equipped with books for distribution.
The devotees from ISKCON Vellore welcomed us to the city and then joined us on book distribution and sankirtana and later for gaura arati and katha. A local donor who joined the program, asked us to host a program for the school children. As we are always in search of opportunities to preach we readily agreed. The school program consisted of a class on Prahlad Maharaj and all the students were very inspired by the character of Prahlad. We also showed then the book ‘Teachings of Prahlad Maharaj’ which many students purchased. Thereafter, we held kirtana which enthused all the children to sing and dance to the holy names of the Lord. They also took darsana of Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundar and offered obeisances to Them.
Our first day in Tamil Nadu was a blissful one with lots of book distribution and sankirtana.
