Abhishek of Gaura Nitai

Walking in the colonies around Hyderabad

Last December, after a program in the town of Singapore our small Padayatra Telangana team slowly approached the city of Hyderabad. We are getting good response from the people and local temple committees. Good book distribution also. Community members are providing accommodations for devotees and supplying grass for the oxen, contrary to my expectations. I thought that getting accommodations and grass would have been difficult in the cities but by Caitanya MahaPrabhu mercy we are getting these easily. The difference between villages and cities is that in cities we have to purchase grass. We get plenty of vegetables in vegetables markets, but only after 8.30 pm, when people go home with what was not sold. Srinivas Sevananda brahmacari feeds the oxen with different vegetables, wet grass, dry grass and paddy; as a result they are very healthy and strong. Some devotees Dilsukhnagar congregation participated with us in the Telephone Colony nagar sankirtana. On January 16th we also arranged a nice feast in which almost 30 devotees participated. We are still walking in the colonies before Hyderabad.

Unforgettable Gaura Purnima festival

Before Gaura Purnima we did Padayatra in various colonies before Hyderabad: Gated, Nagole, Sai Nagar, RK Puram, Telephone, Maruthinagar, Sahara Estates, etc. Very good response from people and good book distribution. We are now 4 devotees on our team, Srinivas Sevananda, Ramadas, Srinivas and me.

We celebrated Gaura Purnima day at the  Omkar Nagar colony Ramalayam temple of Hyderabad with an Abhishek to the small Gaura Nitai Deities of one devotee,  a maha nagar sankirtana followed by Prasadam distribution. Nearly 70 people participated in the procession while others were dancing on their balconies.  The next day we offered a feast to this community. All these events are unforgettable. I feel very satisfied.
