By Dhirnayak Dasa padayatra leader
Padayatra reached Bhuvaneshwar on January 14th 2022. It is a very important place. In 1975, Srila Prabhupada instructed Gour Govinda Swami to build a temple in Bhubaneswar. It is the 108th and last temple project of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada which was completed and inaugurated in 1991 on Lord Nityananda Prabhu’s holy appearance day after seventeen years of preparation and construction. As instructed by Srila Prabhupada, Gour Govinda Swami installed Sri Gaur Nitai, Krishna Balaram and Jagannath, Baladeva, Subhadra Devi on three altars and named the temple Sri Krishna Balaram Temple. It also has Gour Govinda Maharaja’s Samadhi Mandir and Srila Prabhupada’s Bhajan Kutir.
There are very beautiful deities of Krishna Balaram, Sri Sri Nitai Gaursundar, Jagannath Baladev Subhadra Maharani.
Padayatra reached here on and stayed for 5 days in ISKCON temple. We also visited places nearby ISKCON. Because of Corona our movements were restricted but by mercy of Srila Prabhupada we could organize programs at different places. Devotees here are very nice and cooperative; congregation devotees also helped us a lot.
There is a very special Lingraja temple of Lord Shiva, it is the largest temple in Bhubaneswar. And other temples like Vasudev temple, Kedarbhuri temple. We all padayatris visited all these places and prayed for strength to serve Guru and Gauranga. Because of corona we couldn’t go out much for nagar sankirtan.
We request all devotees to please pray to Narshimha Deva that serve Gaur Nitai, Srila Prabhupada, Srila Gurudev nicely.
